News Death Notice

BREWER, James R. age 85 of Kettering passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was preceded in death by his son James R.II and his parents, Phyllis and Raymond Brewer. Survivors include his wife of 39 years Betty; children, David Brewer, Jean (John) Search, Robert (Dee) Dyke, Thomas (Jackie) Dyke, Bill (Kathy) Dyke; a brother, Raymond Brewer; three sisters, Betty Suiters, Janet Blevins, Janice Lofino; grandchildren, Chris Peters, Carrie Coorough, Nikki Brewer, A.J. Brewer, Andrew Dyke, Jena Dyke, Justin Cloyd, Missy McNicol, Morgan Dyke; 9 great grandchildren; special friends from the Bocci Team, Pete Lanasa, Jerry D'Amico and Joe Fanelli. Jim was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran where he played on the Quantico Marine Football Team from 1946-1948. A City of Dayton Fire Fighter for 27 yrs retiring in 1982. He was an avid softball player for many years in the Dayton Area and also enjoyed fishing. Jim was a member of the John Pirelli Lodge #1633 for 30 yrs and was a past president. He was also an avid Bocci Player. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Ascension Catholic Church 2025 Woodman Dr. Kettering, Ohio 45420. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
