News Death Notice
WALSH, James 86, originally from Dayton, Ohio, succumbed to leukemia March 11 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a WW II veteran, husband to Rita, and father to Tim, Becky, Sue, Joni, Kevin, Larry, Mary Rita, Jimmy and their spouses, as well as 20 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Jim grew up on K Street, next door to Holy Angles Church, and graduated from Chaminade in 1945. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and University of Notre Dame fan. As much as he loved his wife and family, Jim especially loved music. He admired and respected the talent of Frank Sinatra and he could be heard many an evening at the Murrells Inlet Elks or Moose lodges, singing some of Sinatra's greatest hits. Like the fine Irishman that he was, he's now off to a long term exclusive run with a wee bit of Jameson in his hand. We wish him God speed, and we will always have his music in our hearts. A Committal Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 27, at the Calvary cemetery chapel. A celebration of his life will follow at 1:00 PM at Nedelko's Banquet and Reception Hall in Beavercreek. In lieu of flowers please donate to Mercy Care Hospice, 8216 Devon Court, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572 or donate blood in memory of Jim to the American Red Cross.
