News Death Notice
HOWARD, James William of West Milton, passed away on June 17, 2012 from complications of pneumonia. He fought a courageous battle against cancer (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma) for 15 years, never losing his sense of humor. James was born on July 17, 1926 in Harriman, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elder & Dora Howard, sister Bonnie Scarborough, and brother Jack Howard, all of Harriman. He was a good natured, outspoken man who joked with everyone he met. James served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from Delco Products (Kettering) in 1980. He loved baseball, bowling at Timber Lanes and working in his garden before he became ill. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy (Laird) Howard, 2 daughters; Janice McGrath (Michael McGrath) of AZ; Doris McIntyre of Miamisburg, OH; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas McGrath, Courtney McIntyre & Brandon McIntyre, and many nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Cypress Pointe Nursing Home, especially Angel, and the caregivers at Hospice, especially Leslie. Graveside service, 10:30 AM Fri. June 22 at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Dayton. You may express condolences to the family at www.gilbert-fellers.com
