News Death Notice
BRINKMAN, Jean Gougarty age 90, passed away Monday July 30, 2012. Born in Rochester, New York, she was lifelong resident of Dayton since the age of ten. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert J. Brinkman Sr.; her parents, Lilian and Thomas F. Gougarty; her brother, Thomas Gougarty; twin sons, Robert and Thomas. She attended Julienne High School, class of 1939, and became a registered nurse in the Good Samaritan Hospital Class of 1942. In life she was recognized for many years of service to a number of charitable organizations serving the Dayton community. She is survived by seven children, Mary Jean Walter, Miamisburg, OH; Robert J. Brinkman Jr. (Lynn), Seneca, SC; Thomas L. Brinkman (Jackie), Frisco, Texas; Louis A. Brinkman Sr., (Yvonne) Centerville, OH; Anne Welborn (Jerry), Duluth, GA; Constance Zengel (Jim), Dayton, OH; Donald J. Brinkman (Pamela), Bolingbrook, IL; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and three sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Gougarty, Ruth Woolley and Jeanette Stragand. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 AM at St. Henry Catholic Church Friday July 3. Visitation with the family will be done one hour before mass in the church vestibule. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chaminade-Julienne High School or to Hospice of Dayton. Arrangements by the Westbrock Funeral Home, Wayne Ave.
