John LEMKE Obituary

News Death Notice

LEMKE, John Charles On 1-3-2016 the body of John Charles Lemke betrayed him for the last time at the age of 65. He was born on April 6th, 1950 in Dayton Ohio to the late Betty and Fred Lemke. John chose to ride the roller coaster in this amusement park called life. He was a proud team member of the class of 68' Chaminade High School and the class of 72' Morehead State University football teams. His love for football was fierce & embraced until the end. John was an active member in the IAAM & was the CEO of FAME Inc. & many other companies throughout his years. He traveled the world rubbing elbows with everyone from the Rolling Stones to Castro & the Pope. His larger-than-life persona & stories would captivate a room. Christmas was a special time for John and his Christmas visits have & will be missed as they touched & made serious believers out of many people that he knew & even a few he didn't. He was survived by his daughter Alysha (Patrick), his granddaughter Grace, & their mother & Grandmother Eva, his sisters Lee Ann (Bill) & Maria & brothers Larry (Sheree) & Bob (Judy) & the rest of the Lemke family. He was also survived by his angel & love of the last 15 years Robin Roberts Handlan & her daughters Karen & Jessica & the rest of the Roberts family. Safe travels John you'll be missed. That smile will remain etched in my memory forever. John always had a smile on his face and his zest for life was undeniable. My deepest sympathy for those left behind that have to wait to see him again on the other side.

My heart goes out to all who knew and loved John. His spirit lives on in all who knew him. My memories of John are wonderful ones of a kind man, and a wonderful father and son. They say that grief is the price we pay for love. If that's true, John was very loved as he will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace, John.

Memories are what sometimes makes us happy in life, and in death it is what we're left with. So it is with joy, reflection, thoughtfulness and happiness that we remember and learn about life. And how we utilize the memories will also be impact full on our lifes as we try to move forward. Let those memories make us better, stronger, and full of life as we remember those that impacted us. RIP John, Cranes

No words that I write will assuage your loss of John, a friend of mine and fellow Chaminade High School alumnus. In our lives, in our joys and in our sorrows, we've learned that there is a time for every matter under heaven. We laugh and we weep. We celebrate and we mourn. With God's amazing grace we somehow bear what seems unbearable. "Love bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends." May your priceless, precious and enduring memories of John sustain you.

My heart goes out to Johns life partner, Robin. Theirs was a love unsurpassed and a bond unbroken by death. John will live on through her always. Physically gone but never forgotten. I'll smile when I think of all the joy and happiness he brought to my beautiful friends life all these years. RIP John. You did good.

John was not only my friend but also a boss for a short period of my professional life. He,as many will say, was an original with a keen sense for innovation. He was a good guy and I am proud to have known him. RIP

We say "goodbye" now but will say "hello" again when we see you in heaven. I'll always remember you fearlessly diving headlong over, and sometimes into, those piles of tacklers on the football field; even during practice. On occasion, I was in those piles. RIP my brother. My condolences to your family.

If I can get directions, and your permission, I'd like to stop by at the Celebration of John's life event you've scheduled for Friday, Jan. 8, 2016. Thank you.

John was one of a kind, and was always one to cheer folks up. Had pleasure of working with John and the entire clan for a number of years in Florida at the Rock Super Bowls at the old Tangerine Bowl. Will cherish those memories forever. He is now in heaven working on a new t-shirt deal for all the angels. My deepest sympathy's to Robin, Eva and especially Alysha. Bill Becker, Charlotte NC

I'm blessed to have know John and to have him as a friend. A friend who saved me at a very low point in my life. John was fearless, fun loving, loyal to a fault, an inovator, tireless, and the best friend you could hope for. You are missed and could never be forgotten. Alysha can be very proud of her Dad as he was of her.

A good friend, footballer, artist and classmate from Chaminade HS '68, John was one of those guys loved and respected by all his fellow eagles.
He'll be missed by all who knew him and the many he made happy and laugh, and I'll always remember, his own was very contagious.

My friend, John. Those of us who knew you won't soon forget you. "Work hard, play hard." That could have been your personal motto. We are happier for having known you and sadder for your leaving us.
