News Death Notice

PUGH, Mrs. Linda S. age 63, of Butler Township, departed this life July 29, 2012 at Kindred Hospital. Born September 14, 1948 in Zwolle, Louisiana to Benjamin and Lillian Smith. She attended Grambling College, graduating from Wright State University. Linda taught school for over 33 years with the Dayton Public School System. She was a member of People's Community C.M.E. Church for over 44 years. Preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Franklin. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 45 years, Richard; daughters, Tonya, Shara, Rasha; brothers, Calvin (Karen), Melvin (Betty) and Louis (Sharon) Smith, & Dr. Harry (Dr. Joi) Smith, MD; sister, Sherry (Roscoe) Palmer; grandchildren, Sonna, De'Angelo, Kaylan & Emma Kay; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and close friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, August 4, 2012 at People's Community C.M.E. Church, 2525 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Chester Ricks officiating. Entombment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation 9 am Saturday at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N.
