Family-Placed Obituary


age 81, a longtime resident of Trotwood, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, December 2, 2007. Lloyd was born in Middletown, OH and had graduated from Jefferson Twp. High School in 1944. He had worked 35 years for the Montgomery County Engineers Office having retired In 1981. Lloyd was proud to have been a U.S. Marine attached to the battleship Nevada during WW II. His active duty included Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Julliet Islands and the China Sea. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Ellerton and the Brookville VFW Post #3288. Preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Charles and Mary (Wombold) Coddington and a sister Dorothy Buschur. He is survived by his devoted wife Betty J. (Boval) Coddington; son and his wife Jere L. and Shirley Coddington; grandchildren Bethany A. Coddington, Amy Taylor, Ronnie (Tonya) Taylor; great grandchildren Austin Barnes, Ronnie Taylor Jr. and Madison Taylor. Lloyd is also survived by his loyal neighbors, special friends at the restaurant, his Marine buddies, dear relatives and his loyal cocker spaniel companion Penny Poo. A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held 1:30 PM Thursday at the ROGERS' FUNERAL HOME, TROTWOOD with Pastor Rick Hahn presiding. Burial will follow at the Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 PM. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Lloyd. CODDINGTON, Lloyd J.
