News Death Notice
DEADY, Margaret Irene (Hamblin) age 78 of Dayton went to be with the lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday June 7, 2012. Irene was born in Williamsburg, KY on Oct. 15, 1933. She worked at the Westward Ho on N. Dixie Dr. for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband George Hamblin in 1980 and her second husband John Deady in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents Cleve & Nonnie Freeman; brothers Edgar, Lloyd, Arlis, Avery, Floyd, Junior, and Claude Freeman; one sister Alza Ritter. Survivors include daughter Gail Sorah and Steve Watkins; sons Tony & Penny Hamblin, Terry & Michelle Hamblin; mother-in-law Kathryn Boesch; step-daughter Johna & Doug Neller; step-son Ryan & Janis Deady; 2 granddaughters Pam & Rob Schumacher, Denise & Danny Smith; 5 great-grandkids Tyler Sorah, Thomas Schumacher, Tesla, Kelsey and Linzee Smith; 3 step-granddaughters and 3 step-great-grandkids. Also surviving are 1 brother Jack Freeman and 2 sisters Jean Dalton and Wilma Cox. Irene was a member of the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday June 11, 2012 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00am until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Irene's memory.
