Ralph DENNLER Obituary
News Death Notice
DENNLER, Ralph John age 77, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Ralph was born to the late Ralph and Bernette (nee Sendlebach) Dennler on July 28, 1937 in Bellevue, KY. He was an Eagle Scout and Valedictorian from Chaminade High School in 1955. He attended the University of Dayton and then married his childhood sweetheart, Kathryne. Ralph served as emcee for the Dayton Racquet Club and performed as a magician in the area. Ralph was a man with many interests ranging from fishing, bird watching, sailing to acting He was a long time member of the Dayton Theatre Guild where he acted, directed, and served on the board. Ralph was inducted into the Dayton Theater Hall of Fame in 2007. Ralph was a successful salesman and spent the majority of his career with RCA. Ralph's greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends. He was affectionately known as "Gran" by his grandchildren. Ralph was a devoted member of Ascension Catholic Church for over fifty years. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathryne and son, James Gregory. Ralph is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Robert) Gardner, Susan (Tony) DiGiorgio, Mark (Holly) Dennler and Mary Dennler; grandchildren, Timothy and Daniel Gardner, Michael and Sarah DiGiorgio, Amanda, Gregory, Matthew, Rebecca, and Hannah Dennler; sister-in-law, Barbara Palmer, many nieces, one nephew and many friends. Family will greet friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Dr. Kettering, OH with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dayton Theatre Guild, 430 Wayne Ave, Dayton, 45410 or St. Benedict the Moor Catholic School, 138 Gramont Ave, Dayton 45417 . To the family of Ralph Dennler: Please accept my sincerest condolences in the loss of your dear father. I am honored to say that I was one of the nurses that cared for your brother, Jim, when he passed away at Children's Medical Center many years ago. I was at his bedside, along with your parents, when Jim died. I can honestly say I shall never forget the spirit of The Lord filling that room, as we witnessed Jim's departure from this life. According to Jim's wishes, we prepared his eyes upon his death, so his corneas could be successfully transplanted to others who were visually impaired. Your parents came back to the hospital later, & shared with us the fact that two other people benefitted by Jim's gift of sight. And now, I know your parents & Jim are once again united.
