News Death Notice

SMITH, Mr. Roger Ellis Sr. age 59 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Pinnacle Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Mansfield, Ohio, for 32 years and had resided in Dayton for 27 years. Roger was employed by Plating Technology, Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fell Smith Jr., and Mary Alice (Brooks) and his brother Charles Michael Fletcher. Survivors include his wife, Ezell Smith, of Dayton; daughters, Melissa (Jackie) Williams of Mansfield, Natalie Walker, Renee and April Craver of Dayton; sons, Roger Ellis Smith Jr., Thomas Michael Smith, Anthony and Jeffrey Carver of Dayton; two sisters Lesia Payton (Clifton) Columbus, and Regina Dixon (Rafael) of Mansfield; two step-sisters, three step-brothers, and a aunt Mrs. Mary Frances Caldwell, (22) grandchildren & one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Visitation at 11:00 with funeral services starting at 12:00 noon Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Gods Way Triune Ministries, 4544 Old Troy Pike, with Rev. Jim Holmes, and Michael J. Miles II, officiating. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery, with arrangements entrusted to the LORITTS-NEILSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3924 W. Third St. Procession will leave from 3319 Shiloh Springs Rd. at 10:15 a.m.
