Ruth BRYAN Obituary


News Death Notice

BRYAN, Ruth V. age 63, died on Monday morning, July 16, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a 1971 graduate of Miami University, Oxford, OH with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and pursued coursework toward a masters degree at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN from 1973-75. She is survived by her partner Claire Hurley of Spring Valley, OH; stepson Michael Hurley of Centerville, OH; parents Robert and Ines Bryan of Celina, OH; sister Maria Bryan of Dayton, OH; brother John Bryan of Dayton, OH; sister Jane Schroeder of Celina, OH; five nieces; two nephews; seven grandnieces; three grandnephews; and three godchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at 1:30p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 155 Thruston Blvd., Dayton, OH, Rev. Gary Eichhorn officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth's name may be made to Hospice of Dayton or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

How sad. I met Ruth's sister Jane while doing the Komen 3-Day Walk in 2009 to honor my sister who had died of breast cancer in December 2008. Jane was an inspiration and an immediate friend. My heart goes out to her and the entire family.
