News Death Notice
ROSS, JR., Theodore Roosevelt age 78, of Dayton, departed this life on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Teddy, as he was so affectionately called, was the owner of Ross Floor Covering and Home Improvement, where he was known as one of the best linoleum installers in the city of Dayton. Teddy was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was an advocate sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending his greatest pleasures with his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Theodore R. Sr.; mother, Emma F. and a brother, Paul W. Ross. He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Velma Parks Ross; (2) daughters, Judy and Cindy; (8) sons, Craig Sr. (Latweta), James (Tonya), Mark, Chris, Keith (Patricia), Theodore III (Niki), Kent (Deneen) and Steven (Dana); brothers, Elmer (Glenna), Leonard of Dayton, OH and Lynn (Janice) of Huntsville, AL; sisters, Virginia Hayes (Marshall) and Gwendolyn Usher of Dayton, OH; aunt, Lucretia Few-Ruff; devoted sister-in-law, Iola Baker; (23) grandchildren; (10) great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service 1:00 P.M., MONDAY, September 24, 2012 at the Tabernacle Baptist, 380 S. Broadway St., with Rev. Dr. Ernest Graves, officiating. Viewing 10:00 A.M., Monday; the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave. Interment: Woodland Cemetery.
