Wallace Stookey Obituary


News Death Notice

STOOKEY, Wallace Dean Dino age 75, of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 to be with the Lord. He was at home with his family at his side after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Wallace and Georgia Stookey; brothers, Rolla, Alvin, Richard and Arthur Stookey; sister, Patricia Crawford. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet; sons, Robert (Gail) Stookey of Georgia, Jay (Lee Anne) Stookey of Xenia, Timothy (Cyndi) Stookey of Xenia; daughters, Deanna (Russ) Cline of Washington State, Kandace Stookey of Xenia, and Janice Stookey of Beavercreek; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Allen "Kent" (Barbara) Stookey of West Milton; sister, Cristine Hunter of New Jasper Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. He worked at the Dayton Newspaper for 44 years, was a 32 Degree Mason and Scottish Rite, and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 2-4 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek with funeral services beginning at 4:00 pm with Pastor Perry Bilyeu officiating.
