News Death Notice
BRIDGE, Wendell F. 91, of Fairborn, died Saturday December 8, 2012 in Sion Medical Center in Beavercreek. He was born October 4, 1921 in New Marshfield, Ohio, the son of Floyd L. and Gertrude J. (Brewer) Bridge. He graduated from Waterloo High School in 1939. Wendell enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served his country during World War II. He worked as an electrician for Delco Products and retired after twenty-seven years of dedicated service. He was a member of Michael L. Finnell Lodge #711 F & AM for fifty-one years, was a 32nd degree Mason for thirty-seven years and member of the Antioch Shrine for thirty-seven years. He was a member of American Legion Dignam Whitmore Post 536 in Fairborn and. Wendell was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Fishing Club of America, member of National Rifle Association (NRA) for many years, member and past President of the Nashville Coon and Gun Club, and member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He is survived by his two sons Bruce Bridge and Gerald Bridge both of Fairborn; daughter, Carol A. Hagemeyer of Jonesborough, Tennessee; sister, Juanita Dudley of Corbin, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Helen Bridge of Athens; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-three years, Elizabeth Ann (McBride) Bridge; sister, Wilma E. Sickels; brother, John D. Bridge and two great-grandsons. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday December 13, 2012. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 12 p.m. Friday in New Marshfield Cemetery, New Marshfield, Ohio.
