News Death Notice

SMITH, William L. age 69, a long time resident of Moraine and West Carrollton passed away Tuesday Sept. 10, 2013. Bill was born in Dayton on Jan. 7, 1944 to the late Corbett L. and Edna V. (Rothwell) Smith. He was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War and owned Bill's Transmission Shop in West Carrollton for many years. Bill is survived by 3 children: Janet King of FL, Kenneth and wife Susan Smith of Washington Twp., Brian Smith of Kettering, brothers and sisters: Patricia Butler of West Carrollton, Cheryle Thacker of Moraine, Robert and wife Joanie Smith of West Carrollton, Dara Smith and husband Mark Poeppelmeier of Dayton, Michael Smith of Moraine, grandchildren Jason Adams, Cassidy, Corey, Cody, Casey and Alyssa Smith, great-grandchildren: Jason Adams,II, Maylin Adams, Skylin Adams and dear friend Holly and her children. Visitation will be Sunday Sept. 15, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at the SANNER FUNERAL HOME, 800 So. Alex Rd., West Carrollton, OH 45449. Graveside funeral services will be TUESDAY Sept. 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dayton National Cemetery with Pastor Rob Wackerman officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the William L. Smith Memorial Fund c/o Farmers and Merchants Bank, 3235 Alex-Bell Rd., West Carrollton, OH 45449.
