News Death Notice

Faulkner, Russell J., Jr. Age 88, of Dayton, formerly of Bellbrook, passed away Thursday April 26, 2012 at Lamplight Nursing Home. Russell was born May 10, 1923 in Greene County to Elta L. (Breakfield) and Russell J. Faulkner, Sr. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and family get-togethers. Russell owned and operated a barber shop in downtown Bellbrook for almost 25 years. Most recently, he worked in the Produce Dept. at Krogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl and Elwood, and sisters Lois, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Velma and Leona. Russell is survived by his son John Faulkner of Bellbrook, two daughters Judy Beekman (Edgar) of Fayetteville, GA, Karen Prince (Charles) of West Carrollton, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and brother James Allen Faulkner (Rosella) of Huber Heights. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday April 30 at Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St. (S.R. 725), Bellbrook (937-848-6651). Funeral services 11:00 am Tuesday May 1 at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Heck officiating. Burial in Bellbrook Cemetery. In memory of Russell, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #9927, 3316 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, OH 45429.
