News Death Notice

BOSWELL, Larry R. age 76, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on May 4, 2012. Larry was born on March 23, 1936 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Orville and Esther (Wamer) Boswell. Larry was employed in Springfield and Dayton prior to his retirement. After retirement, he was a long time usher for the Dayton Dragons Baseball Team, as well as the University of Dayton Basketball Flyers. He enjoyed helping others and volunteered for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, Juvenile Diabetes of Greater Dayton and the Dayton Art Institute. Larry was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Dayton Art Institute, Fraternal Order of Eagles and of the Browns Backers of Greater Dayton. Larry is survived by daughters, Sheila (Matt) Rugh, Cyndi (Mark) Robertson, Julianne (Darin) McManamay, and son, Jeffery (Abby) Boswell all of Springfield. Survived also by grand-children; Jessica and Jamie Rugh, Lauren and Lindsey Whitaker, Tate Robertson, Reece and Ty Boswell all of Springfield, brother, Jerry Boswell and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Wanda, brother Robert, sister Cathy, sister-in-law, Jeri Sue Boswell, infant grandson Blake Whitaker and nephews Don and Tim. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME-Springfield, where services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Powell officiating. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd.
