News Death Notice
AMBURGEY, Ellis W. age 85 of Medway, passed away Saturday June 9, 2012. He was born December 27, 1926 in Knott Co., KY, the son of the late Estill and Cora (Everage) Amburgey. Ellis was employed with General Motors, retiring after 32 years of service. He served as an Elder in the Old Regular Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Fern Watts and Nell Pratt. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; two daughters, Kathy (Dr. Charles) Wheeler of Florida, Lisa (Gary) Butterfield of Dayton; three grandchildren, Charles F. Wheeler, III, Dr. Lindsay Wheeler, Brittany Hunter; and a sister, Fairie Watts of Miamisburg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday June 13, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday June 14, 2012 at 10:30 A.M., Elder Greg Sauers officiating. Interment will follow in the Byron Cemetery.
