News Death Notice

YUNG, Betty Lou R. age 67, of Kettering, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Betty was born January 12, 1945 in Oil Springs, Kentucky. Betty is survived by her husband: Jerry (retired Lexis/ Nexis); sons: Eric (with Miami University) & wife: Jerrilyne and children: Kierra & Nick, Chris (with University of Virginia) & his children: Ben, Joe & Harry; sister: Alice & her daughter and son-in-law: Janice & Wayne; brother-in-law: Gus Edward & wife: Cathy; and their daughters: Marianne & Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alva & Erma Rice (both teachers in Eastern Kentucky); in-laws: Gus & Mary Miller; and sisters: Phyllis & Kaye. Betty was a longtime Kentucky resident with undergraduate, masters & PhD degrees from the University of Kentucky. She was employed at Wright State University as an associate professor in the School of Professional Psychology and had so many memories and friends there. Betty was known for her love of family and friends, sense of humor and academic work. She made everyone's life better for having known her. She was a consummate team player, wonderful wife and mother and the best grandparent in the world. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Grandview Hospital for all of their care and professionalism. A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the in memory of Betty.
