News Death Notice
TINKA, Helen (Gau) Age 87, passed away on Sunday, July 29. She lived in Dayton area for many years, but retired to Florida, living in Clearwater, and more recently Weeki Wachee. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Olivia Gau, her husband Kal Tinka, and several siblings. She is survived by: Sister Nora Sigler, brother Orville Gau, son Kal Tinka (and wife Marie), son Mike Tinka, and daughter Misty McClain (and husband Chris), 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Helen was a Navy WAVE during WWII, then worked and retired after a successful career from the Defense Electronics Defense Center (DESC) in Dayton. In her younger years, she enjoyed boating and water skiing with her family on Lake Cumberland, Kentucky. In her last few years, she often said that she had a good, long life, and was ready to go to be with her deceased husband. But still we are deeply saddened by our loss and we will miss her dearly. After cremation, a memorial service is currently being planned to take place in Clearwater, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) or the Humane Society of Clearwater - 3040 State Road 590, Clearwater FL 33759.
