News Death Notice
BARNES, Waylen Henry, Sr. 64, of Vandalia, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012. He was born in Wilder, Tennessee on October 5, 1947 to Fred & Daisy (Ford) Barnes. Waylen was a construction worker for the Fryman Kuck Company. Preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Murphy. Survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Georgenia; 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Kathryn & Jason Harris, Angela & Mark Jordan, Amanda & Blain Davis; 2 sons, Waylen Jr. and Eric Shane Barnes; 19 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Geraldine Poteet, Sherry Foster & Shelia Russell; 7 brothers, Larry & Bruce Murphy, Rodney, Dwight, Terry, Rickey & Tony Barnes; numerous other relatives & many friends. A visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road with eulogy presentations at 7:15 p.m., and a gathering of friends will be held Wednesday starting at 5 p.m. at Amanda's home.
