News Death Notice
BROWN, Joe V. age 85, of Huber Heights, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his granddaughter's home in Xenia where he had briefly resided during his illness. He was born August 26, 1926 in Dutch Valley, Tennessee, the son of Lephew and Louise Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Brown in 2009; 3 sisters and a brother. Joe is survived by his daughter: Linda (Terry) Sturgeon of Xenia; 4 grandchildren: Kimberly (Mike) Dell, Holli (Scott) Porter, Dianna (Louis) Alliod, and Allen (Alyssa) Sturgeon; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Joe had worked at Frigidaire and retired from General Motors-Harrison Radiator Plant. He was a member of the North Huber Heights Baptist Church. Services will be held 4 PM Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Pastor Marvin L. Engle officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Graveside service and interment will be held 2 PM Monday at Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VITAS Hospice, 3055 Kettering Blvd., Ste 320, Moraine, OH 45439 or the North Huber Heights Baptist Church, 6193 Taylorsville Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424.
