News Death Notice

BROWN, Clara M. 94, of Beavercreek, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Trinity Community of Beavercreek. She was born March 9, 1918, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Andrew J. and Ottie Mae Snyder Gastiger. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Howard, Ken, and Ralph Gastiger, three sisters, LaVerna Filson, Louise Clark, and Betty Lewis. She retired from the Beavercreek Board of Education in 1971, and was a librarian at Shaw Elementary. She married Howard Brown on March 25, 1939, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1991. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Ann Brown Lee, and husband J. N. Lee, and by several nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful mother and a friend to all. She was the oldest charter member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, North Fairfield Rd, a charter member of U.M.W. Circle Red Hats, Koinonia Circle of St. Andrew's, PALS Circle, the Beavercreek Historical Society, and the Beavercreek Senior Citizens. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and aides at Trinity Assisted Living, especially Tina and Donna, to Dr. Oza at Miami Valley Hospital, and all the wonderful nurses and aides, and to Crossroads Hospice. Services will be held at 11am, Monday, August 13, 2012, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 350 N. Fairfield Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio, 45430, with Rev. John Schlicher officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am, Monday, until service time at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek. Contributions may be made to the St. Andrew United Methodist Church Building Fund. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com
