News Death Notice

MILLS, Donald Punky age 70 of Dayton, passed away August 14, 2012. He was born March 12, 1942 in Manchester, KY. Punky is survived by his wife, Pam Mills; daughters: Tara (Aaron) Kohler and Erin (Gregg) Monroe; 5 grandchildren: Gavin, Ethan, Garrett, Peyton and Olivia; brothers and sister: Ted Mills, Jim (Donna) Mills, Perry Mills and Joanie (Donald) Haddad; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Punky was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Vietnam War. He was inducted into the Dayton Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003 and received official recognition by Alliance Running as one of the "All Time Great Road Racers of All Time." He was an avid fisherman and a friend to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed by his furry "kids" John Henry and Mattie May. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where family and friends may pay tributes if they wish at 4:00 p.m. Burial and military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Dayton National Cemetery.
