News Death Notice
ASHER, Lawrence E. "Larry" age 78 of Kettering, passed away Sunday August 19, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness. He was born December 4, 1933 in Hyden, KY son of the late Lawrence & Myrtle Asher. Larry was a retired construction worker with the Osborne Construction Company and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Preceded in death by an infant daughter Andrea and 2 sisters Sadie Rickman and Nancy Kilburn, Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty; one son & daughter-in-law Scott & Angela Asher of Kettering; 2 grandchildren Rebecca and Zachary; sister Mable Cline of Dayton and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 22 at 2:30pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Pastor Randy Grimes officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:30pm until time of the service.
