News Death Notice
SPEHAR, S.M., Joseph M. age 85 of Cincinnati, OH died September 10, 2012. Born February 21, 1927 Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Stephen and Mary (Pavlesio) Spehar. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister. Brother Joseph entered the Society of Mary and professed first vows on August 22, 1944 at Beacon, NY and perpetual vows on August 17, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 1947 with a B.A. in Education and from The Ohio State University in 1958 with an MA in Mathematics. From 1947 to 1986, Brother Joseph taught Secondary school at Cathedral Latin and St. Joseph Cleveland, OH, Chaminade - Hollywood, FL, Chaminade - Dayton, OH, Covington Catholic - Covington, KY and Purcell in Cincinnati, OH. From 1986 to the present, Bro Joseph focused his ministry on the Catholic Charismatic renewal and was the co-founder of the Lighthouse Renewal Center in Cincinnati. Visitation will take place at Queen of Apostles Chapel at Mt. St. John, 4435 E. Patterson Rd., Dayton, OH 45430, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. and the burial at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Mt.
