News Death Notice
KLANK, Marie P. age 90 of Kettering was born October 21, 1921 in Corning, Ohio. Marie passed away September 13, 2012 at the Sterling House of Beavercreek. She grew up in Portsmouth, OH where she graduated from high school. Marie moved to Dayton after World War II where she met her husband of 61 years, Walter Klank. Marie was a devoted wife, mother and had many good friends and extended family. She was deeply involved in numerous community groups including Grace Methodist Church, the Dayton Art Institute, Goodwill Industries, Planned Parenthood and the Little Exchange. Marie volunteered for more than forty years including working on the annual fundraisers for these groups. She was also an accomplished docent at the Dayton Art Institute. Marie loved the arts and sports of all types and she loved to entertain and socialize with her family and many friends. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking and had an artistic flare with everything she did. Maries greatest passion was her family, especially her children, grandchildren and their friends. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Marie is survived by her son Richard Klank, son Jeffery Klank (daughter- in- law Jean Pegg), daughter Jennifer Burnette (son-in-law Jim Burnette), grandchildren Conrad Klank, Kelsy Burnette and Mitchell Burnette, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Charlotte Ramsey and numerous nieces and nephews. A special recognition to the professionals at Hospice of Dayton and Sterling House of Beavercreek for their excellent care and who allowed Marie to pass in peace and comfort. Donations in Maries memory would be appreciated to Grace Methodist Church, the Dayton Art Institute And Hospice of Dayton. A memorial service will be held for Marie on October 13, 2012 at 9:00 am at Grace Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd. Dayton, OH (937)278-4731.
