News Death Notice

PARKS, Clyde W. age 90, of Miamisburg, OH, passed away, Saturday, September 29, 2012. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA, on March 18, 1922, to the late Van B. & Lillie V. Parks. He was highly decorated and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, while honorably serving in the U. S. Army during W.W.II. Clyde retired from Miami Paper in 1987 after 35 years of service; and was a member of First Baptist Church of Farmersville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mary A. Parks in 1996; and 2 brothers Harold & Bill Parks. He is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Pastor Tom Vorhis of West Alexandria, Janice & Steve Pilkenton of Lebanon and Pamela Bennett of Germantown; 6 grandchildren, Shelly, Dustin and Chad Vorhis, Nicki and Deanna Pilkenton and Chris Bennett; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; his brother, Earl (Sue) Parks of Miamisburg; 3 sisters, Stella (Gene) Carter of W. Carrollton, Lucille (Cecil) Peters of Miamisburg and Johnnie (Darrell) Honeycutt of Kingsport, TN. Family and friends may call 5 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 3rd, at the Dalton Funeral Home, corner of State Route 4 & Weaver Rd., Germantown. The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, at First Baptist Church, 334 N. Elm St., Farmersville, OH, with Pastor Dustin Vorhis officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, W.
