News Death Notice

DILLARD, Sr., Mr. Walter E. age 81, born February 19, 1931 in Dayton, departed this life Wednesday, October 3, 2012. He was a skilled barber for over 50 years and retired from General Motors in 1990 after many years of dedicated service. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1982, Walter served as a faithful Elder in the Englewood Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Velner Dillard; sister, Louise Dillard; brothers, Paul, Gilbert and Veodis Dillard; sons, Walter E. Jr. and Michael Dillard; daughter, Pamela Williams. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Lillian Dillard; children, Tereasa Washington, Sigmond Dillard, Connie (Arvin) Ridley, Rodney (Tina) Middleton & Angela (Harold) Stollings; devoted friends, Ron Ellis, Pete Webster, Jerry Tims and too many more to name;19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Bro. James Baldwin officiating.
