News Death Notice
MCGEE Jr., Mr. Norris age 92 of Dayton transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. He was a native of Jackson, MS and served in the United States Army before moving to Dayton where he resided for over 60 years. He was a member of Rockhill Missionary Baptist Church, and a longtime member of the local Friendly Boys Club, as well as the Old Timers Club. He retired from General Motors after 35 plus years of service and was a well-known cement finisher in the Dayton area. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Laura McGee and his son, Norris Edward McGee. His survivors include daughter, Sylvia McGee-Maclin and those who lovingly called him Pa Pa: Laura Norrissa, Johnny & Nichaela Maclin, Elgin, Brenda & Carolyn Wallace, Lonjenna Hale; one brother, Frank McGee and one sister, Bernice Armstrong both of Jackson, MS; brothers-in-law, Andrew Gibbons, Alter Moses, Albert (Alice) Burton, Joseph Burton, John (Betty) Burton; sisters-in-law, Sarah Taylor, Mary Lindsey; very special friend, Ms. Mattie Wortham, of Dayton, OH. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Rockhill Missonary Baptist Church, 1404 South Gettysburg Avenue.
