News Death Notice
NIEKAMP, Merle E. age 69 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday November 14, 2012 at Englewood Manor following an illness. Merle was born September 3, 1943 in Dayton, son of the late Henry and Mae Niekamp. He was a Team Leader for the Resident Home Association, was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Merle is survived by one nephew Tony & wife Jennifer Niekamp of Butler Twp and a sister-in-law Joyce Niekamp of Vandalia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday November 16 at 10:00am at St Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning from 9am until time of the mass. Arrangements in care of Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home.
