WILLIAMS, Hazel 89, of New Lebanon, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born September 29, 1923, in Haymond, Kentucky, the daughter of Irving and Louanna Shepherd Boggs. She was a former member of Memorial United Presbyterian Church, and was a member and secretary of the Greene County Chapter of the Kentucky Colonels. She retired from Kennedy's Grocery Store after 24 years and worked part-time at Kennedy Bible Bookstore for several years. She loved playing the guitar and crocheting. Hazel played onstage with "Blue Country", playing gospel tunes at the Greene County Fair and with the "Stringbenders" a group of Golden Age Senior Citizens. She and her husband Jack played in the Williams Family Band for fourteen years. She is survived by her husband, Jack Williams, whom she married, October 31, 1998, a daughter, Fredia Lynn Doyle, Phillips Ranch, CA, a son and daughter-in-law, Ferdie (Veronica) Bowman, Schenectady, NY, a step-daughter, Sindy Paxton, New Carlisle, a step-son, Steve (Christine) Williams, St. Cloud, FL., six grandchildren, Bryan (Kristen) Bowman, Jennifer Bowman, Laura (Chris) Taylor, Twila Waddle, Travis Keith (Jessica) Waddle, and Sean Doyle, three great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, Dawn Marie Johnson, Patricia Williams, Heather Williams, David Williams, Whitney Paxton, Laura Grace Paxton, and Scott Paxton, two step-great-grandchildren, a sister, Nancy Lou Holler, Vandalia, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne (Brenda) Boggs, Centerville, and Kenneth (Mary) Boggs, Xenia, several nieces and nephews, by many close friends, and numerous fans of her music. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband, Keith Bowman, on January 6, 1993, and by a brother, Hershel Boggs. Hazel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Jason Robinette officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
