News Death Notice

KOEWLER, Violet M. age 92, of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born July 30, 1920 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Lewis & Vera Kane. Vi lived her entire life in the city of Vandalia and was a successful business woman for over 60 years. She attended First Baptist Church in Vandalia and was a member of the Englewood Chapter of the Eastern Star, OES #563. She is survived by her children, Philip Koewler (Carol), David Koewler (Joan) and Karen (Koewler) Gallup; 4 grandchildren, Nancy Gallup, John N. Gallup (Akari), Todd Koewler (Sarah), & Brad Koewler; and 9 great-grandchildren, Tianna, Renee, Anthony, Danielle, Elizabeth, Laura, Phillip, Cassidy & Sophia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, January 7 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Mr. John Seagraves officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vandalia-Butler Food Pantry in Violet's memory.
