MAZE, Dorothy Louise (Evers) age 86 of Brookville, formerly of West Milton, Dausonville,GA, Vandalia, Dayton and Englewood, passed away on January 12, 2013 at Brookhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation, Brookville. She was born February 20, 1926 in Providence,RI. Preceded in death by her father Herbert Evers, mother India (Thompson) Evers, sister Virginia (Evers) Martinese, and beloved husband, Melvin D. Maze. She is survived by her loving family, son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Jessica Maze,St. Ignace,MI., son Brent Maze-Vandalia,OH., daughters and sons-in-law Paula and Mike Nason-Cumming, GA., Gail and Kurt Young-West Milton, OH., 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Before her marriage, Dorothy worked at the Quonset Point Naval Base in the defense industry during World War II. She came to Ohio when she and Melvin (Dean) were married in 1945. Dorothy was a member of Shiloh Church, Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxillary at the Englewood American Legion where Melvin was a former Post Commander. She was a devoted wife and mother, balancing child rearing with working many years with Melvin in his Nationwide Insurance Agency in Englewood. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton, burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday one hour prior to the service (10:00-11:00) A.M at Hale-Sarver. The family would like to thank Brookhaven for all their special care , concern and kindness for Dorothy during her time spent at Brookhaven.
