LESKO, John Charles age 81 of Trotwood, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013. He was a retired principal and teacher from Dayton Public Schools and later was principal for one year at Precious Blood School. John was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Marian Manor Council. He volunteered his time at Children's Medical Center and loved to read and garden. John was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Mary (Herbert), children: Audrey Pearson of Centerville, Dennis Herbert of Columbus, Lynn Herbert of CA, Patrick Herbert of Mentor, sister: Sally Hoke of IN, six grandchildren, one great grandson, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Francis and Sarah (McAvoy) Lesko, brothers: Thomas and Edward Lesko and son: Andrew Lesko. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Precious Blood Catholic Church (4961 Salem Ave.) with Fr. Tim Knepper, C.P.P.S. as celebrant. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood).
