GOODMAN, Betty Lou (Fannin) 81 of Rich Creek, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7th, 2013 at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rich Creek. She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on March 24th, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Earnest Paul and Lillian Wolfe Fannin. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Goodman; a sister, Helen Louise McKenzie; an infant brother, Paul Tunis Fannin; a niece, Carol Rose Meixner, whom she loved like a sister; and two brothers-in-law, Luther Wright and Floyd Goodman. Betty was an active member of First Baptist Church in Huber Heights, Ohio, serving as a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. A strong prayer warrior, Betty loved sharing her faith in Christ with many people, reading, and selling jewelry. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she always placed everyone above herself, and will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Kristy Brooks of Pearisburg, Virginia, and Dana Jordan and husband Joseph of Gainesville, Virginia; three grandchildren, Olivia Anton and husband Jay of Newport, Virginia, Tate Jordan, and Reese Jordan, both of Gainesville, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, J.J., James, and Hannah Anton; two sisters, Janice Wright of Rubyville, Ohio, and Brenda Fitch and husband Steve of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Richard Fannin and wife Karen; a sister-in-law, Wanda Goodman; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 10th, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church in Narrows, Virginia with Rev. Jerry Sawyers officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church Sunday from 1:30 PM until just prior to the service.
