GOAD, George H. age 88, of New Lebanon, OH, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. George was a loving father to sons, Steven D. (Patti), Brett R., George G., and John C. Goad; daughters, Lessia K. (David) Dilley and April K. (Randy) Brewer; loving grandfather to Nicole Goad; Ross (Kim) Goad; Clinton Goad; Marcella Cassidy, Sarah and Gretchen Kelley; and Robert Brewer; loving great-grandfather to Douglas and Lillian Goad; Aidan and Dylan Cassidy; and Jaxson Gentry; loving uncle to Greg (Pam) Heck. Preceded in death by parents, Luther and Mabel Goad; wife, Dorothy; sons, Kirk D. and Rex M.; grandson, Kirk D. "Doug" Goad; and sister, Kathleen Heck. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and served during World War II in the Pacific theater. He was a member of Slifers Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Farmersville Lodge #482, served as Master, 1965; Twin Valley Chapter #240, Past High Priest; Adoniram Council #131; Valley Commandery #80; AASR, Valley of Dayton; charter member of Acacia Forest #184; OES Chapter #155, Past Patron. He was a member of New Lebanon American Legion Post #762. He was a Past President and current Trustee of Holp Cemetery Board. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12th from 4-7:30 PM at Arpp and Root Funeral Home, 29 N. Main St., Germantown OH, with Masonic services immediately following viewing. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 13th at Slifers Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Clayton Road, Farmersville, OH. Burial immediately following service at Holp Cemetery.
