News Death Notice

LENO, Elmer was born April 1st, 1918 to Carl and Lillian Leno in Harvey, North Dakota. He grew up on the farm, working along side his father and with a team of horses. He served in the Army for a time just prior to and in the early part of WW II. He married Goldie Schander December 27, 1946. He attended Coyne College in Chicago to learn about electronics and from there he went on to open his own TV and electrical business in Elm Creek, NE. He operated this until accepting a call to be the electronics maintenance person at Kettering Memorial Hospital in 1964. He went on to be the maintenance supervisor and then the manager of motor pool before retiring. He and Goldie traveled extensively in their motor homes, seeing all 50 states. He is preceded in death by his wife Goldie Leno. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kathie Leno of Miamisburg, three grandsons, Scott and Melissa Baughman of Springboro, OH, Sean Leno of Miamisburg, OH and Alex Leno of Dayton, OH and two great-grandsons, Christian and Aaron Baughman. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Rd on Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service 10 am Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Kettering Seventh Day Adventist Church. Pastor Elliot Smith, officiating. Interment at Dayton National Cemetery will follow.
