News Death Notice
STAMMEN, Shirley Louise age 76 of Florida and formerly of Vandalia, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 in Florida. She was born in Ansonia, Ohio on February 8, 1937 the daughter of Norbert & Lucille (Draggoo) Barga. She was a parishioner of St. Christopher Church in Vandalia for over 40 years. She was the golf teaching pro at Cassel Hills from 1986 to 1996 and won several tournaments in Ohio and Florida. She retired in 1998 from Tipp City Schools after 25 years as a bus driver. Shirley and Paul enjoyed 15 years of retirement in Florida together. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Paul Stammen, 3 sons Craig (Vicky) Stammen, Kenny (Kathy) Stammen, and Paul Stammen Jr., daughter Cindy (Bryan) Ross, 8 grandchildren Alesha, Renee', Rachel, Veronica, Luke, Kyle, Eric, and Emily, a brother Ted (Virginia) Barga, a sister Susan Barga, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Sharon Burns. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in St. Christopher Church, 435 East National Rd., Vandalia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Christopher Church with Father Frank Keferl officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Services have been entrusted to the Blessing Funeral Home, Tipp City. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com.
