News Death Notice
CHAMBERS, George G. of Centerville passed away peacefully May 3, 2013 at Heartland of Centerville following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born to Glen and Bernice Chambers on July 16, 1933. George graduated from Chaminade HS in Dayton and the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI. He retired from Inland Division of GM after 36 years of service. George is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara (Kadel), son Mark and Daughter in Law Pamela. He is also survived by sisters Jean (Parker) of Hartford and Carol Vogel of Milford, NH, as well as Brother in Law Dick Kadel (Sharon) of Sarasota, Sister in Law Beverly (Don) Hill of Lithia, FL and 7 nieces and nephews. George enjoyed many years of golf with friends and served as President of the Board of Directors at Walnut Grove CC. He read to the blind via closed circuit radio through Goodwill, and served as a volunteer driver for Hithergreen Senior Center. George and Barbara enjoyed numerous vacations over the years with close friends, the "G8" Group. George and Barbara would like to thank their friends and the good people of St Francis of Assisi Parish for their kind thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. Per George's request, his remains have been donated to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at WSU. A memorial Mass will be offered at St Francis Parish, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, Friday May 10 @ 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, George would favor donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 4370 Glendale Milford Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
