SIDENSTICK, Chalmer L. "Chet, Clem" After fighting a long, hard battle, Dad begrudgingly left us Sunday May 19, 2013. He was 86 and resided in Beavercreek, with his bride of 66 years, Harriette (Bubbles) Bauer. He was born August 30, 1926 in Dayton, to the late Ura (Windmiller) and Edgar Sidenstick. He was also preceded in death by his sister Dortha (Dick) Pearson, brother-in-laws Ronald and Raymond Bauer and Sister-in-law Patricia Colther. Dad is survived by his children Tami (Charlie) Bower of Xenia and Michael (Teresa) Sidenstick of Miamisburg. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Christie (fiancé, Shawn), Nickie (fiancé, Rodney), Michael Ryan, Chris and Brittany (Matt); step-grandchildren: Tommy and Mindy and great grandsons Kaden and Cooper. Chet graduated from Stivers in 1944 and started working at Monarch Marking, where he spent 43 years working his way up the ladder, finishing his career in Human Resources. He was a member of George Marshall Lodge and enjoyed his retirement fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of the Dayton Metro Chapter of Barbershoppers, where he served 2 terms as President and was chosen Barbershopper of the Year in 1991 and 2005. Visitations will be Wed. May 22 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd., with services Thur. May 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Tobias. Interment at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, all memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton, in Chet's memory. The family greatly appreciates all the loving care from the angels at Hospice.
