News Death Notice

EVANS, Thomas H. of Springboro, OH, our beloved who was 68 passed away on May 22nd, 2013. He was born in Beaufort, SC at Parris Island Naval Base on August 26th, 1944, to Herbert C. and Betty-Ruth (Dietrich) Evans who preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, David C. Evans (Wife-Rae) of Annapolis, MD along with his sons, David T. (wife-Angie) Evans of Springboro and Douglas E. Evans of Kettering and three grandsons, Michael, David & Jonathan as well as many nieces and nephews. Tom is also survived by Vicky L. Evans of Dayton whom he was married to for 32 years. Tom grew up in both Milwaukee, WI and Warsaw, IN and attended Warsaw High School where he played baseball, basketball and football. He attended Manchester College, was an Eagle Scout and a wonderful Coach, Father, Grandfather and Brother. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, coins and sport figurines. Tom was recently retired from PDSI where he enjoyed many successful years as a recruiter. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the support of Tom prior to and during his recent illness and for the great love shown by family and friends. Furthermore, his family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at St. Leonard and The Hospice of Dayton for their loving care during the final months of Tom's life. A Memorial Service to celebrate Tom's life will be held on Thursday May 30th, 2013at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel located at 5471 Far Hills Ave. Kettering, OH 45429 at 1:30 PM. There will be a visitation prior to the Service from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM. Private interment will be at the family gravesites in Savannah, GA and Dayton, OH Condolences may be made to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
