WALL, Hugh Edward III "Cork" age 67 of Dayton, passed away Friday January 10, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 5, 1946 to the late Hugh Edward and Clare Aull Wall, Jr.. He was a 1968 graduate of the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1972. Hugh became the founding partner of the Taft, Stettinius and Hollister Dayton office in July, 2003 after practicing for the first 30 years of his career as a partner at Coolidge, Wall, Womsley and Lombard. Hugh was widely recognized for his expertise in business, real estate and construction law. He represented privately-held businesses, non-profit entities, multinational corporations and lending institutions in a variety of matters, both domestic and international, for more than 40 years. Hugh was a devoted servant to numerous for profit and not-for-profit boards including St. Vincent DePaul and Family Service Association. Hugh was a leader in the field of law and his much-loved sport of golf. He was a former President of the Dayton Bar Association and former Chair of the Professional Ethics Committee for the Ohio State Bar Association. Hugh was honored to serve as President of the Ohio Golf Association and of his beloved Moraine Country Club. He was a proud member of Pine Valley Golf Club in Pine Valley, New Jersey. In recognition of his leadership, Hugh was inducted in the Ohio Golf Association Hall of Fame in 2010. He spent years sharing his love of the game as Varsity Coach of the Archbishop Alter High School Golf Team, leading several teams and individual golfers to State Championships.He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years Laura Keighley Wall and their children Stacy Wall Schweikhart (Mark), Hugh Edward Wall IV (Marci), and Emily Wall (Mike Perrich) and grandsons Jake & Quinn Schweikhart and Ian Wall. Hugh is also survived by sisters Susan (John) Harris, Nora (Scott) Murray and his brother Tim (Leslie) Wall, mother and father in-law Arthur and Wanda Keighley, brothers in law John (Lori) Keighley, David (Gay) Keighley and Donald (Kathy) Keighley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Mary Ann "Molly" Cammerer and Sheila Wall White Mattei. Hugh's family would like to thank Hugh's right hand Debbie Othersen for her years of support, Dr. J Paul Monk and his team at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital for their assistance in his battle, Hospice of Dayton and his many cherished friends whose visits brought joy and comfort to his final days.Visitation will be held on Monday January 13 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home 5471 Far Hills Avenue Dayton, Ohio 45429. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday January 14 at Incarnation Parish 7415 Far Hills Avenue Dayton, Ohio 45459 with Father Daniel Meyer officiating.
