ISRAEL, Agnes M. 92, passed away peacefully on February 15th. A native of Aliquippa, PA, Agnes lived her adult life raising her family in Oakwood with her husband Kenneth after their return home from WWII. An Army WAC, who received the Service Medal and the European Campaign Medal noted her most memorable experience as "Having met my future husband while on active duty in Reims, France." She leaves behind her devoted husband Kenneth and their children, Kenneth Israel Jr. (Cathy), Bonnie Israel, Janet Borst (Mike), Mary Beth Neal (Tom). The grandchildren include: Ken Kennard (Brandi); Sarah, Miriam, Michael, and Joel Moore; Alexandra Israel; Brian and David Borst; and Michael (Kristin) Neal. Agnes and Ken were married for 66 years. Agnes was involved with a number of local causes and was an active member of the Church of the Holy Angels, St. Henry's parish, the Dayton Women's Club, Christ's Child, and the Dayton Area . Above all, she loved her family and will be missed by her family and wide circle of friends. She enjoyed many pleasant summers at Lake James, Indiana. Agnes' family wishes to extend a special Thank You to all of those that supported her physically and spiritually over the last several years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol, father and mother, Joseph and Rosa Rubino, brothers, Joe, Charlie, Guy, and Albert, and sister Rose. As celebration of her life, the funeral mass will be held at the Church of the Holy Angels 218 K Street Dayton, Ohio 45409, Thursday February 20, 2014 at 10am. Rev. Thomas Shearer officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-6 pm Wednesday at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd.
