News Death Notice
STEVENS, Merrill J. 81 of Dayton, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014. Merrill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Vivian (Strunks) Stevens, their four children and spouses Cheryl Mumaw of Raymond, OH, Elizabeth "Beth" Langford of Vandalia, Scott A. and Cynthia Stevens of Dayton, Daron J. and Lisa Stevens of New Carlisle. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; step-sisters Joanne and Eileen, several nieces nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Don W. and Elizabeth C. (Hoffman) Stevens, one brother Bill Stevens. Merrill was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, he was retired from DESC and WPAFB after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and especially fishing. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road, Thursday, February 27 from 5 - 8 pm. A Celebration of Merrill's life will be Friday, February 28 at 11 am. Burial will follow in Polk Grove Cemetery. Messages of sympathy and support to his family at: www.tobiasfuneralhome.com

Merrill taught me how to play Bingo Bango Bongo on the golf course. I left the course quite a bit light in the wallet that day. Rest in Peace.
