GREEN, Marydell (Moorman) A funeral service celebrating the life of Marydell (Moorman) Green, age 89, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday February 28, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Green passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at The Inn at SharonBrooke. She was born June 11, 1924 in Newark, Ohio to the late Foy D. and Olive Mae (Dillon) Moorman. Mrs. Green was a long time resident of Newark and a graduate of Newark High School, class of 1942. She formerly lived in West Carrollton, Ohio for sixteen years. She was employed by Tracy & Tracy Attorneys in West Carrollton, OH and also by Newark City Schools. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and a troop leader for the West Carrollton Girl Scouts. She was also a member of the Bloomin' Buckeyes Square Dance Club for over 10 years and a passionate lover of animals. She is survived by her son, Dana (Billie Jane) Green of West Carrollton, Ohio; daughter, Deena (Charles) Levy of Dublin, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) Schwartz of North Port, Florida and Amanda (Keith) Finney of Newark; great-grandchildren, Zoe Schwartz and Olivia Finney and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Sherman T. Green who passed away in 1997; a sister, Wilma Mathews and a brother, Wayne Moorman. Friends may call on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of The Henderson- Van Atta Stickle Funeral Home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made in Marydell's memory to Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058 or the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath, Ohio 43056.
