News Death Notice

WATTS, Oliver (Ollie) age 83, of Xenia passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born October 16, 1930 in Leatherwood, Kentucky, the son of George Washington and Dosha Combs Watts. Ollie was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Bill Poston, Elbert, Estill, Carl and Shafter Watts and a sister: Laura Napier. He is survived by his wife, Jean Watts, son : Mike (Kim) Watts; daughters: Missy (Johnny) Henderson and Mindy Watts. Ollie is also survived by his sisters: Ella Watts, Carrie Combs, Rose Holbrook, and Maxine (South) Hudson; and a brother: Paul (Brenda) Watts. His cherished grandchildren are: Harrison Watts, Samantha Watts, John Henderson and Tyler (Heather) Gilbert; and great grandsons: Kale and Liam Gilbert. Ollie retired from NCR and Napier-Sebastian Construction. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in both the US Army and US Air Force. He was a member of the VFW and FOE. Ollie was an avid sportsman. He played in many softball tournaments and bowling leagues. He learned to play golf while at NCR, and continued to play the rest of his life. He traveled to Las Vegas several times to play golf. He was especially proud of his hole-in-one in 2002 at Sebastian Hills Golf Course. Ollie loved family gatherings and spending time in the garden and fishing on the lake. Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, March 10th at the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Rev. Don Kuntz officiating. Interment to follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 1240 E. 9th St., Room 1015, Cleveland, OH 44199.
