MADDEN, Etta G. affectionately known as "Geneva", age 101, born September 27, 1912 in Dayton, Ohio, departed this life March 17, 2014. She attended Steel High School. During the War, she worked at WPAFB. She was a faithful member of McKinley United Methodist Church and Pearl True Robinson Guild. She taught crocheting and knitting with Dorcus Sewing group at the church, Wesley Center, Ellison Senior Center and Princeton Center and in her home to friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Madden; parents, William E. & Florence H. Turner Jones; sisters, Clara A. Williams, Mary L. Stanton, Laura L. Wilks; brother, William H. Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, John E. Madden; grandchildren, John Madden, Jr., Belinda Madden, Deborah Wheeler, Brenda Melton, Nashville, TN and Tressa Wimberly, Jacksonville, FL; devoted nieces, Etta Edwards, Florence Kelly, Irene Mays, Mary V. West of Corina, CA, Laura (Ron) Ogletree, Florence Marie Blackburn; nephews, James (Barbara) Williams, Cleveland, OH and Charles (Charlotte) Williams; 19 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren, and dear friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, March 22, 2014 at McKinley United Methodist Church, 196 Hawthorn St. Pastor Merritt Worthen officiating. Interment Greencastle Cemetery. Visitation from 9 to 11 am. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N.
