News Death Notice

GREEN, Jane Myers of Kettering, passed away on March 13, 2014. She was born to W.T. and Mary Adams Myers in Hannibal, Missouri in 1923. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Adams Green, and one brother and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn (Kent) Froman of Liberty, Missouri and Mary Green of Dayton; granddaughter, Anne Lindaman and great-grandson, Bryce Lindaman of Kansas City, Missouri; and sister, Joyce (Bob) Sweeney of El Dorado Hills, California. Jane attended Central Methodist University and the University of Missouri. To do her part for the war effort (WWII) she studied engineering and traveled by train with a group of young women to Dayton to work at Wright Field. She met her future husband at Grace United Methodist Church where they were married. Later, they moved to Kettering, Ohio and were among the founders of Christ United Methodist Church where Jane sang in the choir for many years. They were also longtime members of Couplets. In the mid-1950s, the family lived in Tachikawa, Japan for several years. Jane was also active in TTT Society and the College Women's Club of Dayton. Jane loved U.S. and world travel, researching and planning many trips, with her favorites being small inns operated by the great chefs of France. She also frequently enjoyed dining in the fine restaurants of the Miami Valley. Inurnment will take place at David's Cemetery in May.
