DIASPRO, Leonard Joseph age 80, of Beavercreek passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2014, with his family at his side. He was born in Dayton on May 9, 1933, to Ignazio and Palma (Diamante) Diaspro, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Faye Copeland and three brothers, Peter, Michael and Joseph and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Josephine (Contadino) and Charles Furio. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Lou (Furio) Diaspro; his three children, Lenny and wife, Kelly(Coleman) Diaspro, Maria and husband, Jim Rzecznik and Mark Diaspro; three grandchildren, Walter, Mark Joseph and Cara; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Josephine (Furio) McDonald and husband, Jim, Eileen and Lavonne Diaspro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and The St. Luke Leisure Club, and John Pirelli Lodge #1633, Sons of Italy. He retired from the Dabel Branch of the United States Post Office after 35 years of dedicated service and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a longtime employee of Benham's Catering. Prayers will be said at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. from St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Road with Father Terry Schneider as the celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Greene Oaks Retirement Center and the Hospice of the Miami Valley for their love and compassion.
